Elza Photographie brought along mom Julia and her adorable daughters Stella and Flora for a commercial shoot in the Solarium studio. We adored how the room was used to create a variety of selects and capture the love in the space! Stella and Flora sported their Ciala Co accessories as they posed along with mom. This adorable little family certainly brought the energy to the room and matched the space perfectly with their neutral and classic ensembles. (...)

Becoming a mother has been the single most transformative experience of my life. I had a wonderful pregnancy and apart from first trimester nausea, I truly enjoyed every minute of carrying our baby. Even up until the end I was sleeping well and feeling rested, ready and whole. I had prepared extensively for a natural hospital birth with my midwives and various other practitioners and although I was aware that "anything could happen" during labour, I still felt as though I could control the process to a certain degree with determination and focused energy. Danielle called in her friends, Elza Photographie and Warehouse 84, and they put together a picnic afternoon for her daughter and her friends! The best part, was letting the girls play with the ingredients, and to teach them about using organic, farm raised ingredients - like the beautiful eggs from Cul.ti.vate Niagara.

When Elizabeth reached out to me to book a session to celebrate Effie’s first birthday, I knew we would be creating the most precious images together. Not only her daughter is adorable, but that greenhouse was also such a dream. All these terracotta pots, these little plants and greeneries… Oh and what about that perfect little outfit and that Briar Handmade bonnet! Every little detail was simply perfect to create the most beautiful session. (...)

Growing up in a very artistic family, I remember as a kid having my own little easel at my grandparents’ atelier and painting or drawing next to them and my mom. It was such a precious moment, listening to some classical or French music and sharing that creative space with them. (…)

With both Danielle of Shaw Events and myself being mothers of little ones, working predominantly in the wedding industry, it seemed only fitting to venture down this path of designing our first children’s birthday party editorial together. We had had many visits to the hospital for tests and monitoring while pregnant with my daughter, and after verifying my name and birth date they would always ask this while checking off the boxes on their chart.
